Wintersession

For Wintersession I'm taking a studio course in the Textiles department called "Design for Digitally Printed Fabrics." My work for the class is currently in progress, but will be uploaded as soon as it's ready! Meanwhile, I've been playing around with some of my own personal projects for Valentine's Day. Check them out at my Etsy shop!

Fall semester is OVER!

It's been a good five months since I've last posted buuuuuut I have been productive. I still have to photograph/scan the rest of the work that I've done this semester, but here's a few examples (shown chronologically) from "Color Works" taught by Mary Jane Begin. Please excuse the low quality of some of the photos.

MJ's class allowed me to explore and experiment with combining watercolor and acrylic glazes. It definitely forced me out of my comfort zone since I typically paint with very opaque colors... but overall, it was super fun.

Yay for productivity

Alright guys, so here are some more examples of projects I've been working on over at the Peabody Essex Museum. As you can imagine I have a blast designing these, especially the promotional materials aimed towards kid audiences.

Lollipop poster to advertise Painting the American Vision, an exhibit opening at the end of July. This print will be located across the street in the Hawthorne Hotel once it's fully approved and ready to go.

Aaand another poster for a summer family movie event, Mulan!

Paint 'til I drop

Just dropped off my first portrait commission(s) of the summer! These were pretty quick, since I had about a two-week turnaround time. Each painting is 8" x 10", acrylic on canvas.

It's party time!

The corgi cards are here, and I added a new page to my website so they can be purchased conveniently! Check them out by going to www.amandabeardart.com and clicking on the "shop" link at the top of the page. Each card is 4.25" x 6", printed on high-quality 14 pt. matte cardstock. Envelopes are included, and shipping is free (hand-delivery is an option too)!

Busy Bee/bug?

It's been a few weeks since I last posted because I've been settling into my summer internship at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem. I'm not used to the 9-to-5 schedule yet, but I'm getting there... just gotta drink some more coffee! For now, here's an example of the kinds of projects I'll be doing over the next couple of months. This one's a cabinet poster (for the lobby), and 17" x 43" when it's printed full size.

Printsprintsprints!

Just delivered my first print of "Ten Little Corgi Pups", matted and signed by yours truly. I might make more of these... and they'll be printed on greeting cards soon, too. Stay tuned!
